All children and young people display behaviours that parents, carer’s and others can find difficult to manage.  Children with autism are more likely to display more challenging and severe behaviours due to reasons such as frustration and distress or by triggers.  This can present considerable challenges for parents, carers and others working with the child or young person.  
 
Understanding what causes your child or young person to display these challenging behaviours can help you, to help them, to develop ways of managing these behaviours.
